Stones for Ibarra
Let the reading begin . . . or continue
A member of our book group expressed frustration that she is not prepared to discuss a book until after we have met and discussed it. Sometimes I feel the same. Sometimes I want to ask a question before we meet, a question I want other to consider so I can hear your responses.
So in a spirit of sharing, to provide a forum for discussion, and a site to remind us of when we are meeting and what we will be reading in the near future, I have started this blog. We can share thoughts about what we are reading together, and what we are reading individually, and one and all can participate. Anyone game to join me?
I have been thinking about A Town Like Alice. I have been wondering what I would do with my money should I come into a fortune that would mean I would never have to work again. Here is my list:
Hire a live-in maid so my house would always be clean.
Contribute to the Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City.
Build a medical clinic in a rural village in China or Mongolia and fund it with medical staff and equipment.
That isn't much of a list. How about you?
And would you be willing to travel half-way across the world for a man? Any man? Which man?
